Born and raised in Albania, residing in the United States and studying Italian Literature in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and recently serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay, increased the authors' awareness to introduce for the first time, through Simultaneous Five, two rare languages, Guarani and Albanian, and placed them side by side with three modern languages, English, Spanish, Italian.

Isthmus Zapotec, one of at least six known varieties of Zapotec, claims the largest number of speakers in the Zapotecean family. It is spoken in Oaxacam in Mexico's Isthmus of Tehuantepec, and in the state's capital city, Oaxaca de Juarez. This is the first dictionary of Isthmus Zapotec to be published in English.
