Edgar Frances Poree Jr., a lifelong resident of Louisiana, looks back at his struggles, disappointments, and successes in this memoir that examines the African American experience in the South. As a Black male, he dealt with deeply rooted prejudices, religious discrimination, and conflict with older members of the Black community. He constantly faced inner turmoil, but he remained steadfast in his focus to achieve his goals and navigate the transition from segregation to integration. Poree learned to be resourceful early, convincing the owner of a nearby grocery store to give him a job cleaning the store and organizing the shelves. He went on to start his own business polishing hardwood floors while in the seventh grade. His love for music eventually helped him earn a scholarship at Xavier University in New Orleans, and from there he was on his way. From his teaching career to his successes as a business executive and civic leader, Poree shares his memories of real people, real places, and real divisions. His hope is that youll be emboldened, encouraged and inspired to achieve your own dreams.

In Who Is the Dreamer Who Dreams the Dream? A Study of Psychic Presences, James Grotstein integrates some of his most important work of recent years in addressing fundamental questions of human psychology and spirituality. He explores two quintessential and interrelated psychoanalytic problems: the nature of the unconscious mind and the meaning and inner structure of human subjectivity. To this end, he teases apart the complex, tangled threads that constitute self-experience, delineating psychic presences and mystifying dualities, subjects with varying perspectives and functions, and objects with different, often phantasmagoric properties. Whether he is expounding on the Unconscious as a range of dimensions understandable in terms of nonlinear concepts of chaos, complexity, and emergence theory; modifying the psychoanalytic concept of psychic determinism by joining it to the concept of autochthony; comparing Melanie Klein's notion of the archaic Oedipus complex with the ancient Greek myth of the labyrinth and the Minotaur; or examining the relationship between the stories of Oedipus and Christ, Grotstein emerges as an analyst whose clinical sensibility has been profoundly deepened by his scholarly use of mythology, classical thought, and contemporary philosophy. The result is both an important synthesis of major currents of contemporary psychoanalytic thought and a moving exploration of the nature of human suffering and spirituality.

Robert E Denton The Key To Enlightened Dreaming The Spiritual survival Guide Beyond 2012 ABOUT THE BOOKS The Key To Enlightened Dreaming was originally published in 1998 as a full color hardcover book with original spiritual artwork as well as B&W line drawings. It teaches the reader to break down dreams into their four main components so that the symbols may be ascertained to allow the dreamer to see the message within. At that time I was raising a young family and found that the dreams of a family unit are priceless in guiding young children and parents in the ways of Spirit so that God and our spiritual guides can have a direct contact to us and guide our daily interactions. In the fall of 2011 I began to have visions of white light that seemed to be directing me to write another book to warn the planet (particularly the United States of America) of impending natural disasters that are about to hit the earth. Even a date has been given as to when this will truly begin. These visions also told me that my techniques in reading the images of Spirit through Dreams, Waking Dreams, Visions, and Soul Experiences, would be the best form of protection and direction for those who could learn It's ways. As a result I have put the two books together, one written in 1998 and the other in the fall of 2011 through the spring of 2012 to release to the world to warn those in the path of the upcoming destrution and give them a means to protect themselves and their families through this direct connection to spirit. I would like to sell the two books as one with full color art for 9.99...

A revelatory new book about dreams and dreaming from Toko-pa Turner, award-winning author of Belonging: Remembering Ourselves Home You don’t need an expert to tell you what your dreams mean. Understanding their language is as natural as grasping the moral of a story or finding beauty in art. In The Dreaming Way, Toko-pa revives an ancient yet revolutionary idea to bring dreaming back to the people. To retrieve, from the psychology rooted in rationalism, our dreaming authority. Through a unique blend of animism, Sufism and Jungian Psychology, Toko-pa introduces us to the friend who lives within and around us: Wisdom. With eloquence and insight, she guides us in her dreamwork method for Courting the Dream, which reverses the idea that we should try to acquire something from our dreams and attempt instead to discover what the dream longs for. Using vivid dream examples and real-life stories, Toko-pa reminds us that we already possess the tools we need to remember, understand, and embody the wisdom of our dreams. Drawing on ancient mysticism, she shows how nature’s animating intelligence is also patterning our dreams. When we learn to follow that wisdom, we discover that it’s calling us toward a unique purpose. A purpose that, Toko-pa says, is nested within the larger intent of nature. As practical as it is enchanting, this book contains guidance on how to: • Improve your dream recall • Understand the language of metaphor • Work with archetypes and other patterns • Engage in shadow work • Discover dream incubation • Practice active imagination • Cultivate synchronicity • Facilitate a dream group

The Eastern Christian liturgical tradition of Lent has long included the chanting of the Songs of Ascents (Pss 120-134) as "entrance songs" of not only the special penance service known as the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, but also of the season of repentance. Ruckhaus' commentary in As Though We Were Dreaming provides theological insight and exegetical breadth to this group of Psalms. Even more so, Ruckhaus drives the reader to engage the Songs of Ascents and participate in the descent and ascent of meaningful and life-changing repentance. The commentary here does more than just compare the struggle of the ancient Jews reflected in the Songs of Ascents with that of the early Christian community and our own experience. Ruckhaus insists on a "gutteral connection" between the anxiety and hope of reconstituting the people of God after the disaster of the exile and that of the passion of Jesus. "The gospel story is already genetically encoded in the story of Israel." The liturgical incorporation of the Songs of Ascents in the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts "grounds" the Church's participation in the Great Story. We don't borrow the ancient psalms of the Jews' struggle to reconstitute a kingdom of God; we share in that struggle.

These are images and words in the night. “In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, when he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction” (Job 33:15–16 NKJV). Until you get to the place where you have extracted certain behaviors from your system, one needs God to have something to put in your face. Many times, God has to go outside of our spiritual capacity and connect us to something psychologically or scare us with some kind of threat in order to keep us until we can walk as he wants us to walk. He uses consequences and deterrents that catch us quickly. They catch you on the way so you don’t get too deep into something that is going to take half of your mind to get out of it. “You don’t want to go to the edge of your mind to change your mind in order to do a different behavior” (Noel Jones). Within the context of this reference, those catalysts, consequences, and deterrents are your dreams.
