DOWNLOAD EBOOKTHE NATIONAL BESTSELLER, NOW IN PAPERBACK “Another hilarious essay collection from Phoebe Robinson.”—The New York Times Book Review “Strikes the perfect balance of brutally honest and laugh-out-loud funny. I didn’t want it to end.”—Mindy Kaling, New York Times bestselling author of Why Not Me? With sharp, timely insight, pitch-perfect pop culture references, and her always unforgettable voice, New York Times bestselling author, comedian, actress, and producer Phoebe Robinson is back with her most must-read book yet. In her brand-new collection, Phoebe shares stories that will make you laugh, but also plenty that will hit you in the heart and inspire a little bit of rage, and maybe a lot of action. That means revealing her perspective on performative allyship, white guilt, and what happens when white people take up space in cultural movements; exploring what it’s like to be a woman who doesn’t want kids living in a society where motherhood is the crowning achievement of a straight, cis woman’s life; and discussing how the dire state of mental health in America means that taking care of one’s psychological well-being—aka “self-care”—usually requires disposable money. She also shares tales of her mom slowpoking before a visit with Mrs. Obama, the stupidly fake reassurances of zip-line attendants, her favorite things about dating a white person from the UK, and how the lack of Black women in leadership positions fueled her to become the Black lady-boss of her dreams. By turns perceptive, hilarious, and heartfelt, Please Don’t Sit on My Bed in Your Outside Clothes is not only a brilliant look at our current cultural moment, it's also a collection that will stay with readers for years to come.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKPlease note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 I was super into the idea of being a mom when I was younger. Then I got older and became what some would call a tomboy because I played pickup basketball with my older brother and his friends, didn’t want to wear pink, and loved watching action movies. #2 I grew up believing that motherhood was something I was going to do. I was told that morning sickness happens, and that once my baby bump is pronounced, I’ll have a nude photo shoot with famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. #3 Motherhood is portrayed as an effortless job that every woman wants to do, but in reality, it’s suffocating and defined by what a woman can be and what her life can look like. #4 The boundaries of modern womanhood are expanding, but society has a long way to go in its treatment of childfree women. People must learn to not treat them as an inconvenience that’s been thrust upon them, and the public must resist the almost Pavlovian impulse of relegating childfree women to the outskirts of society.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKLouie Giglio helps you find encouragement, hope, and strength in the midst of any valley as you reject the enemy voices of fear, rage, lust, insecurity, anxiety, despair, temptation, or defeat. Scripture is clear: the Enemy is a liar who will stop at nothing to tempt you into poor decisions and self-defeating mindsets, making you feel afraid, angry, anxious, or defeated. It is all too easy for Satan to weasel his way into a seat at the table intended for only you and your King. But you can fight back. Don't Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table outlines the ways to overcome those lies so you can find peace and security in any challenging circumstance or situation. With the same bold, exciting approach to Scripture as employed in Goliath Must Fall and his other previous works, pastor Louie Giglio examines Psalm 23 in fresh ways, highlighting verse 5: "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." You can find freedom from insecurity, temptation, and defeat--if you allow Jesus, the Shepherd, to lead the battle for your mind and heart. This spiritual warfare book for those who are leery of spiritual warfare books will resonate with Louie's core Passion tribe as well as with Christians of all ages who want to live a triumphant life in God.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKFrom Out of a Dark Corner is a true story of the work I did in a halfway house for young people with major mental illness. I organized a musical group there and met a man with a severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, (O.C.D.), who had a beautiful voice and was living in the facility. He had been in and out of state hospitals for over twenty years, taking medication, which caused him to act very drugged. He was erroneously diagnosed with schizophrenia from several psychiatrists over the years and was destined to live a terrible, institutionalized life. I had just graduated Florida International University with a degree in psychology and applied whatever knowledge I had about mental illness in order to help him. At the time I was married to another man but later divorced him because I fell in love with Marty. After reading Dr. Leonard Cammers book, Freedom from Compulsion, I diagnosed Martys problem correctly and spent years helping him with his repetitive rituals and excessive hand washing. I was also able to help him relive his childhood with his mentally sick mother until he got much better. I chose the title, From Out of a Dark Corner because Marty spent day after day sitting in his bedroom, in a corner, not doing much of anything except attending the halfway house. He also helped me to leave my dark corner because of the fear I had that I, too, would suffer psychotic episodes like my poor mother did. Today Marty doesnt take any medication for O.C.D and lives a normal life, socializing with my friends and singing professionally.
