The validity of this Patent was lately called in question in the Sn reme Court, at Halifax, in a proceeding instituted by a member of the Bar who h been appointed Queen's Council before the date of the Act, and Whose order of precedence was altered, unfavourably to him, by the Patent. Among the other grounds taken in the argument, It was contended that the Document, though bearing what purported to be the Great Seal did not really bear the Great Seal.
