This first edition of the Canadian Biosafety Standards and Guidelines (CBSG) is a harmonized national standard for the handling and storing of human and terrestrial animal pathogens and toxins in Canada. The CBSG is the result of a joint initiative undertaken by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to update and harmonize existing Canadian biosafety standards and guidelines.
