“In the light of eternity, how important is it?” As one of Max Edwards’ favorite sayings, these words depict Max’s life, which was characterized by laying aside the things of mere earthly importance—a successful farming career, a comfortable home, closeness to friends and family—for pursuits of eternal significance instead. From obedience in day-to-day decisions to uprooting his whole family, Max strove to accomplish whatever God would have him do. Following God’s call, he, his wife, Dixie, and their children left all that they knew to go to Brazil as missionaries. Through all the adventures and uncertainties, and with each new opportunity, Max and Dixie boldly followed God. As they obeyed, they saw his faithfulness in their lives, from developing camping ministries to bringing God’s light to places crippled with spiritism.

God uses people daily to communicate His fragrance and message to us. Too often we dont check to see what aroma or impression we are leaving for others to see, hear, or smell. After visiting someones home or before checking out of a motel, or when moving, we double check to make sure we havent left anything behind. Even criminals check to make sure they havent left any clues at the crime scene to identify them. A story reminded me of this. A robber thought he had committed the perfect crime. He assumed he left no clues behind. But he didn't count on someone remembering how he smelled. The smell he left behind was what helped convict him. Yes, we leave something everywhere we go. Stuart Holden reminded a young man moving from a boarding house of this fact when the young man said, he was just double checking to make sure he wasn't leaving anything behind. Theres one thing you will leave behind, young man, your influence.

Why is God restoring apostles to His Church? Because restoration of the apostolic ministry is necessary for the Church to complete its mission on earth. We are now experiencing the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit the world has ever known, and we should expect to see multitudes swept into the Kingdom as a result. In this book, John Eckhardt reveals how the apostolic demension affects the preaching, teaching, worship, prayer and giving of the local church--and how apostolic leadership will point the way toward fulfillment of the Great Commission.

You cannot understand China without meeting heroes like Samuel Lamb! In an age when secularism and materialism numb the human spirit, China's amazing Christians demonstrate the power of living faith. In 1950 China's Christians numbered about a million. Today, estimates range between 30 and 70 million! How did this body of believers grow so rapidly under atheism and materialism? Bold as a Lamb is the true story of Pastor Samuel Lamb. Imprisoned for more than twenty years for preaching the Gospel, he became the beloved secret pastor to hundreds of fellow inmates. After his release in 1978, he built a phenomenal "house church" congregation of more than a thousand. Soon, however, he became the special target of those determined to destroy the mushrooming house church movement in China. His church was closed and his ministry tools were confiscated. Yet this man remains undaunted, standing boldly -- and with spiritual grace, against fierce opposition. This is the fascinating, eye-opening account of one of China's best-known pastors, his dauntless congregation, and how they found joy and optimism in the face of relentless persecution.

The Bible tells Christians to expect persecution—and those pressures are daily rising in our culture. How do we respond with faith rather than fear to cancel culture and weaponized media narratives? The answer: Being filled with and following the Holy Spirit as the early Church did in the Book of Acts. This is the only force powerful enough to turn riots into revivals, darkness into light, hardship into triumph, and fear into bold faith.

"Go and make disciples . . ." It's one of the most familiar phrases in the Bible, but one of the most puzzling and challenging to see fulfilled. How does one "make" a disciple? What's the cost? What's the reward? Why do so many Christians struggle with this Great Commission directive from the Lord? This book presents seven clear, biblical principles of ministry for serious Christians who want to have significant personal ministries. It gives encouragement, motivation, and practical instruction for success in making disciples for Jesus Christ. These are principles such as "Be what you want others to be," "Give your life to people, not just your knowledge," and "Don't use people to build your ministry; use your ministry to build people." This book will deepen your appreciation for the power of lay ministry and help you be a disciple-maker for Christ, right where you are.

Journey Through Advent with John Wesley's Means of Grace. The season of Advent offers time and space for Christians to prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ at Christmas through reflecting on the story of salvation. In All the Good: A Wesleyan Way of Christmas, a group of diverse Wesleyan scholars will take you on an Advent journey guided by the practices in John Wesley’s means of grace. John Wesley’s emphasis upon practices of piety and mercy—or good works—drew from the larger Christian tradition. Such practices are often referred to as means of grace. Each chapter guides participants through one of the four weeks of Advent by reflecting on biblical passages in light of an aspect of Wesleyan means of grace highlighted by illustrations and stories. Readers will look at preparing the way for God, the impact and significance of prayer, the substance of good works and caring for others, and sharing God’s mission to the world. In this season of Advent as we await the birth of the Christ child remember and know God’s goodness and love for us. A DVD with weekly video segments and a comprehensive Leader Guide with small-group discussion questions are available separately to create a four-week study for Advent.
