The Blair Society maintains two archives. The first was established in 1986 at the Kentucky Historical Society Library in Frankfort, kentucky. The second repository was established at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City in 1990. The books lists materials donated to these two repositories to date.

There were at least six main branches of the Blair family which settled in eastern Tennessee. Most of these families appear to have migrated west from Virginia and settled in Washington, Blount and Monroe counties, as well as other eastern counties. Descendants live in Tennessee and other parts of the United States.
