The keystone of Christianity is Jesus's physical, bodily resurrection. Present-day scholars can be significantly challenged as they forage through voluminous documents on the resurrection of Jesus. The literature measures well over seven thousand sources in English-language books alone. This makes finding specific sources that are most relevant for specific scholarly purposes an arduous task. Even when a specific book is relevant, finding the parts of the book that are most relevant to the resurrection rather than other topics often requires additional effort. A Thematic Access-Oriented Bibliography of Jesus's Resurrection addresses these challenges in several ways. First, the bibliography organizes more than seven thousand English sources into twelve main categories and then thirty-four subcategories, which are designed to help you find the most relevant literature quickly and efficiently. Embedded are pro and con arguments which support efficient access through brief annotations and then annotate the diversity and complexity of the field of religion by including sources that represent a diverse range of views: theistic (e.g., Christian, Jewish, Muslim, etc.), agnostic, and nontheistic. The objective of this bibliography is to provide convenient access to relevant sources from a variety of perspectives, allowing you to browse or find the one source accurately and with ease.

Randal Denny began a devotional study in the Book of Acts with 'Do It Again, Lord' (Acts 1Ð4), 'Where the Action Is' (Acts 5Ð8), 'Wind in the Rigging' (Acts 9Ð12), and continued it with this volume. This book is about joy, a certain kind of joy that comes from deep down inside--the joy of the new life in Christ. E. Stanley Jones noted, ÒA strange, sober joy went across that sad and decaying world--joy that goodness was here for the asking, that moral victory was possible now, that guilt could be lifted from the stricken conscience, that inner conflict could be resolved . . . and that a fellowship of like-souled persons gave one a sense of belonging. It was Good News. And it worked! Acts 13 through 16, the scope of this study, traces the beginnings of that Òepidemic of joy, which spread so rapidly and so extensively that it has reached us today.

Tracing the continuing story of Paul and his work in chapters 17-28, the author notes that even though his story comes to a conclusion, the Book of Acts doesn't seem to have an ending; it just stops. But the thrust continues with the power of the living Christ and the Holy Spirit working through us in our day. Albert Schweitzer wrote: He comes to us, as of old, by the lakeside. He came to those who knew Him not. He speaks to us the same words, 'Follow me,' and sets us to the tasks which He has to fulfill for our time....

The complete guide to debunking right-wing misinterpretations of the Bible—from economics and immigration to gender and sexuality. Jesus loves borders, guns, unborn babies, and economic prosperity and hates homosexuality, taxes, welfare, and universal healthcare—or so say many Republican politicians, pundits, and preachers. Through outrageous misreadings of the New Testament gospels that started almost a century ago, conservative influencers have conjured a version of Jesus who speaks to their fears, desires, and resentments. In Republican Jesus, Tony Keddie explains not only where this right-wing Christ came from and what he stands for but also why this version of Jesus is a fraud. By restoring Republicans’ cherry-picked gospel texts to their original literary and historical contexts, Keddie dismantles the biblical basis for Republican positions on hot-button issues like Big Government, taxation, abortion, immigration, and climate change. At the same time, he introduces readers to an ancient Jesus whose life experiences and ethics were totally unlike those of modern Americans, conservatives and liberals alike.

The book of Revelation pronounces a blessing upon everyone who "reads" or even "hears" it read. Yet, many treat it as a mysterious book that should not be read and cannot be understood. S. N. Haskell has opened the book of Revelation up in an easily read style that explains it and its relation to our day. This facsimile, originally printed in 1905, makes an excellent study book for young and old.
