The increase in the acreage disposed of, notwithstanding the decrease in receipts, is due to the operation of the act approved April 28, 1904, permitting the entry of 640 acres of certain lands in the State of Nebraska upon the payment of the same fee and commissions elsewhere required on an entry of 160 acres of minimum land. There were patents of all classes issued during the fiscal year, an increase of over the preceding year. On July 1, 1905, there were cases pending in this Bureau, a decrease Of cases from the number pending on July 1, 1904.
