DOWNLOAD EBOOKTopos Theory is a subject that stands at the junction of geometry, mathematical logic and theoretical computer science, and it derives much of its power from the interplay of ideas drawn from these different areas. Because of this, an account of topos theory which approaches the subject from one particular direction can only hope to give a partial picture; the aim of this compendium is to present as comprehensive an account as possible of all the main approaches and to thereby demonstrate the overall unity of the subject. The material is organized in such a way that readers interested in following a particular line of approach may do so by starting at an appropriate point in the text.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis volume presents a short guide to the extensive literature concerning semir ings along with a complete bibliography. The literature has been created over many years, in variety of languages, by authors representing different schools of mathematics and working in various related fields. In many instances the terminology used is not universal, which further compounds the difficulty of locating pertinent sources even in this age of the Internet and electronic dis semination of research results. So far there has been no single reference that could guide the interested scholar or student to the relevant publications. This book is an attempt to fill this gap. My interest in the theory of semirings began in the early sixties, when to gether with Bogdan W ~glorz I tried to investigate some algebraic aspects of compactifications of topological spaces, semirings of semicontinuous functions, and the general ideal theory for special semirings. (Unfortunately, local alge braists in Poland told me at that time that there was nothing interesting in investigating semiring theory because ring theory was still being developed). However, some time later we became aware of some similar investigations hav ing already been done. The theory of semirings has remained "my first love" ever since, and I have been interested in the results in this field that have been appearing in literature (even though I have not been active in this area myself).

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis is the first monograph devoted to clean ring and matrix theory. It aims to study a theory of expressing an element in a ring as the sum of some special ones, such as idempotents, units, nilpotents, tripotents, involutions, etc. A matrix over such rings is thereby expressed as the sum of some special matrices. Also another topics on the behaviors of topological properties and *-properties of such rings are investigated. The book is based on the results of various published papers, particularly, by the authors'. It is accessible for students familiar with general abstract algebra, while the topics are interesting for researchers in the field of ring, matrix and operator theory.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKIn recent years the interplay between model theory and other branches of mathematics has led to many deep and intriguing results. In this, the first book on the topic, the theme is the interplay between model theory and the theory of modules. The book is intended to be a self-contained introduction to the subject and introduces the requisite model theory and module theory as it is needed. Dr Prest develops the basic ideas concerning what can be said about modules using the information which may be expressed in a first-order language. Later chapters discuss stability-theoretic aspects of modules, and structure and classification theorems over various types of rings and for certain classes of modules. Both algebraists and logicians will enjoy this account of an area in which algebra and model theory interact in a significant way. The book includes numerous examples and exercises and consequently will make an ideal introduction for graduate students coming to this subject for the first time.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis volume consists of a collection of invited papers on the theory of rings and modules, most of which were presented at the biennial Ohio State — Denison Conference, May 1992, in memory of Hans Zassenhaus. The topics of these papers represent many modern trends in Ring Theory. The wide variety of methodologies and techniques demonstrated will be valuable in particular to young researchers in the area. Covering a broad range, this book should appeal to a wide spectrum of researchers in algebra and number theory.

DOWNLOAD EBOOKThis book collects the refereed proceedings of the 8th Indian Conference on Logic and Its Applications, ICLA 2019, held in Delhi, India, in March 2019. The volume contains 13 full revised papers along with 6 invited talks presented at the conference. The aim of this conference series is to bring together researchers from a wide variety of fields in which formal logic plays a significant role. Areas of interest include mathematical and philosophical logic, computer science logic, foundations and philosophy of mathematics and the sciences, use of formal logic in areas of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence, logic and linguistics, and the relationship between logic and other branches of knowledge. Of special interest are studies in systems of logic in the Indian tradition, and historical research on logic.
