While many effective interventions have been developed with the potential to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality from cancer, they are of no benefit to the health of populations if they cannot be delivered. In response to this challenge, Advancing the Science of Implementation across the Cancer Continuum provides an overview of research that can improve the delivery of evidence-based interventions in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and survivorship. Chapters explore the field of implementation science and its application to practice, a broad synthesis of relevant research and case studies illustrating each cancer-focused topic area, and emerging issues at the intersection of research and practice in cancer. Both comprehensive and accessible, this book is an ideal resource for researchers, clinical and public health practitioners, medical and public health students, and health policymakers.
This textbook presents a much-needed overview of the recent developments in implementation science — a discipline that is young, has gained increasing attention in recent years, and has experienced substantial and rapid growth in knowledge production and debate. It captures the latest developments in research and pushes the reader toward the next phase for implementation science: bridging the science-to-practice divide. Drawing from multidisciplinary, international research by top scholars in the field, this book provides a critical but friendly approach to understanding what implementation science is, what it isn’t, and where it’s going. Topics include: • Factors associated with effective implementation • Organizational context and readiness for change • Implementation theories, models, and frameworks • Enhancing implementation measurement • Bringing interventions to scale • Closing the science-practice gap in implementation Implementation Science 3.0 is a timely, important resource for researchers, students, and others with an interest in implementation working across the fields of social welfare, public health, education, and psychology. Understand functional coatings and their role in three key industries of the future Functional coatings play a huge range of roles in industries from automotive to aerospace to electronic and beyond. They offer protection, performance enhancement, corrosion resistance, self-cleaning properties, and more. Recent developments in the field have allowed for ever more precise optimization of functional coatings, with the result that demand for these key tools is only likely to increase. Functional Coatings for Biomedical, Energy, and Environmental Applications offers a comprehensive overview of these coatings and their applications in three explosively productive industries. A team of expert contributors provides chapters analyzing the latest developments in this growing area of production, with a particular focus on the dynamic relationship between functional coatings and their many applications. The result is an interdisciplinary text which will serve as an essential resource for researchers and industry professionals worldwide. Readers will also find: Analysis of functional coatings for dental implants, pool boilers, solar cells, and many more Detailed discussion of coating properties including superhydrophobicity, self-cleaning, controlled drug release, and more Key contributions to the great environmental challenges of the twenty-first century This book is a must-own for researchers in chemistry, engineering, energy, materials science, and more, as well as for industry professionals working with coating and other aspects of research and development in biomedical, energy, or environmental industries.
Green chemistry for environmental sustainability is an interdisciplinary science that seeks to reduce environmental problems and establish global sustainability. Given the recent development of energy-efficient technologies and the synthesis of green materials, research shows that green chemistry can be a powerful candidate for future technologies. This book discusses synthesis, catalysis, nanosynthesis, green processes, energy-efficient materials, biodegradable raw materials, and comprehensive environmental remediation, making it an excellent resource for aspiring researchers. This book explains what developments are taking place in green chemistry, why it is needed, what new methods can be used to break down traditional barriers, and how researchers can integrate them into their traditional research. To overcome barriers and achieve global environmental sustainability, this book focuses on a three-tiered strategy, namely, pollution and accident Prevention, safety and security Assurance, and energy and resource Sustainability (P-A-S). This book is also an excellent resource for environmental and sustainability managers to integrate new synthetic materials or technologies based on the principle of green chemistry into their traditional work. Ultimately, this book is aimed not only at academics or scientists but also at professionals without geopolitical boundaries.
This book follows a series of "conversations" with these tools, mainly with "chatGPT 4.0" but also with "Bard". It's well known that chatGPT is hampered in its research up to a certain point in time and, because they are language modeling tools, they end up inventing... a lot, especially in bibliographic references. However, accessory tools are emerging that make it possible to improve and even correct this situation, tools that will certainly become much more powerful in the future, but which are already a reality. So, using all these AI tools, a book has been created that aims to be a pedagogical tool that answers a series of questions that can be asked by secondary and higher education students, or even people who are just interested in these issues, but who don't have the access or predisposition to use these types of AI tools.
Effective and accurate science communication is vital for bridging the gap between scientists and the public. By conveying complex scientific concepts in a clear and engaging manner, writers, communicators, and scientists can increase public understanding and foster informed decision-making. Key elements of effective communication include tailoring the message to the target audience, using simple and relatable language, and incorporating visuals and storytelling techniques. Additionally, transparency and openness about uncertainties and limitations of scientific research build trust. The purpose of this guide is to encourage communicators to convey science accurately and effectively and to help scientists communicate their findings to the public. This is not a comprehensive communications textbook. It is a ‘quick read’. Each chapter is short and designed to be read in 5 minutes and is self-contained making it perfect to dip into. Collaboration between writers, health advocates, scientists, journalists, and educators can enhance the dissemination of accurate information. By embracing effective communication strategies, scientists can inspire curiosity, promote scientific literacy, and encourage public engagement with science.
