This catalogue lists 162 genera comprising 1090 species and subspecies which have been described since Linnaeus (1758) until the cutoff date of December 1991. New combinations are established for 40 species. One species, namely Filippia subterranea Gomez-Menor Ortega, is newly synonymized with Lecanopsis formicarum Newstead.
