This report presents a plan for limited access to Interstate 5 between the temporary connection to the Olympia Freeway near St. Martin's College and the temporary connection with Fort Lewis-Tacoma Freeway at the Old Nisqually Road intersection near Fort Lewis Golf Course. The existing route contains frequent county road intersections with turning movements that reduce highway capacity and contribute to accidents.

This report provides information on the location and design of a section of the proposed new highway route of Primary State Highway No. 5, National Park Branch, from East 34th Street to East 40th Street in the City of Tacoma. The present route of PSH No. 5 extends along Pacific Avenue. The proposed retirement of a portion of Pacific Avenue from service as a highway route comes from the need to provide full traffic service between Interstate Highway 5 and the City of Tacoma via the Pacific Avenue interchange. To fully mobilize this interchange, a freeway section of short length located on the ultimate route of PSH No. 5 must be provided. This report presents the highway plan to provide that freeway service to the city of Tacoma.

This report presents a plan to provide limited access control on State Route 7 (SR 7) in Tacoma. East 38th Street is a major arterial street connecting South Tacoma Way, the Tacoma Freeway, Pacific Avenue, McKinley Avenue and Portland Avenue. This street interchanges with the new route of SR 7. This report covers only the portion of East 38th Street between East A Street and McKinley Avenue. The plan set forth in this report proposes to close East B Street at its intersection with East 38th Street and to close East G Street at its intersection with East 38th Street.
