The Bible can be a difficult book to read because of an obscuring fog that overhangs much of the biblical text. Many would-be readers have begun with Genesis, but have soon given up the effort. They were confused, frustrated by their inability to follow and understand the narrative. This book is intended to help such readers as well as those thinking of undertaking the task for the first time. The author is a recognized anthropologist, an ex-Jesuit with a background in theological and biblical studies. He has spent considerable time living with non-literate populations. These experiences made him realize how much of the Bible is a product of non-literate cultures. These insights have been confirmed and expanded by archeological, historical, anthropological, and literary research. Seen from this perspective, most of the Bible consists of theological stories that were later committed to writing rather than a written document of narrative history directly dictated by God. In large part the biblical story is a Jewish Epic with its stages of blessing, tragedy and redemption. It highlights the role of the covenants and the prophets in providing the underlying theological structure of the entire Bible. A brief Introduction in Genesis and the Pauline letters extend the moral lesson of the Epic to all of humanity. The relationship between the literary and theological structures can be diagrammed on a chart that lays out a synthetic view of the entire Bible as well as an outline of this book. Examines how the practice of both art and faith necessarily order man to transcendent fulfillment, yet do so in very different ways. The book examines the analogical nature of art and faith; reflects on the nature of art as a virtue perfecting human creativity; contemplates the purpose of the work of art as revelatory of truth; and explores how the arts become debased when their practice rejects the goal of beauty.

One of the fundamental enigmas of our existence, and for that matter, God’s existence, is the act of creation. Has the cosmos been created ex nihilo or was it an intelligent design by God? Does God, having created the world, let it evolve and develop on its own, subject to the rules of evolution and chance; or does God intervene in every step of evolution in a deus ex machina manner? What is the role of man in creation? Is it as central as existentialism and quantum mechanics assure us: that without human consciousness interacting with energy-matter, there would not be any objects and life forms? Is man the crown of creation permanently, or once evolution forms a more effective connecting agent between spirit and energy-matter, will man be relegated to the world of fossils? The book concludes with a thorough examination of human norms, values and morals. As such, this book constitutes a comprehensive treatise on the genesis of the world, the birth of God, and the role of man.

On a summer day in 1828, Book of Mormon scribe and witness Martin Harris was emptying drawers, upending furniture, and ripping apart mattresses as he desperately looked for a stack of papers he had sworn to God to protect. Those pages containing the only copy of the first three months of the Joseph Smith's translation of the golden plates were forever lost, and the detailed stories they held forgotten over the ensuing years--until now. In this highly anticipated work, author Don Bradley presents over a decade of historical and scriptural research to not only tell the story of the lost pages but to reconstruct many of the detailed stories written on them. Questions explored and answered include: Was the lost manuscript actually 116 pages? How did Mormon's abridgment of this period differ from the accounts in Nephi's small plates? Where did the brass plates and Laban's sword come from? How did Lehi's family and their descendants live the Law of Moses without the temple and Aaronic priesthood? How did the Liahona operate? Why is Joseph of Egypt emphasized so much in the Book of Mormon? How were the first Nephites similar to the very last? What message did God write on the temple wall for Aminadi to translate? How did the Jaredite interpreters come into the hands of the Nephite kings? Why was King Benjamin so beloved by his people? Despite the likely demise of those pages to the sands of time, the answers to these questions and many more are now available for the first time in nearly two centuries in The Lost 116 Pages: Reconstructing the Book of Mormon's Missing Stories.

Archangel Michael taught interactive healing to author Rekha Vidyarthi; through this technique, she has assisted the healing process in people for sixteen years. Michael said to her You need to heal yourself in order to heal others. Written with Jesuss guidance, Healing Hands of Jesus illustrates how you can choose to change the karmic things and past lives that are happening right now. Angels heal many lives at once by healing one personality and integrating one fragment at a time into the higher self, shortening the incarnation of a troubled past and present. Every experience in life is created by unconscious thoughts. Your outer situation triggers your innermost emotions and feelings. The mind requires answers in order to change ones perspective. Because most answers lie either in childhood or in a past life, it is necessary to look within. The angels trigger our memories to identify the connection, which is when healing begins. Such things as parental imprinting, family karma, ego, anger, fear, guilt, sadness, depression, or learned behavior perpetuate from one life to the next. These issues repeat themselves through many lives until we learn how to heal the issues. Healing Hands of Jesus explains that we must ask forgiveness for the negative things that are happening to us now in order to heal ourselves.
