Over the last decade, our understanding of metabolism in the context of cancer has evolved greatly. It is now evident that altered cellular metabolism is an integral effector of tumorigenesis that is intricately intertwined with cell signaling as well as genetic and epigenetic regulation of diverse tumor programs.
