In With Wings There Are No Barriers, motivational speaker Sue Augustine offers her personal strategies to living your best life. “Growing your wings fully could happen quickly; however, taking flight doesn’t always occur in an instant. . . . But every worthwhile dream is worth the effort, the pain, the heartache of setbacks and failures, and the time invested. I urge you to believe that you can fly. You will begin to experience the ecstasy of being free, totally free, to soar to new heights!” —Sue Augustine What, exactly, are wings, and why are they so important? As Sue Augustine tells us, wings are important because they provide a Power of Purpose. They allow women to navigate the currents of the winds of life and avoid the barriers and obstacles in it. WINGS are, in fact, Worth, Insight, Nurturing, Goals, and Strategies. In order to live a happy, productive life, a woman needs to be able to stretch her wings and fly. Sue Augustine provides women everywhere with a guide to a life with no barriers a life of magnificent possibilities. “Sue’s life has moved from tragic to magic. Her inspiring tale and insights will help you do the same and more.” —Mark Victor Hansen, #1 New York Times–bestselling coauthor of Chicken Soup for the Soul

This ebook has a fixed layout and is best viewed on a widescreen, full-colour tablet. When Christabel Blackman's mother turned ninety, they celebrated by sifting through Barbara's old documents: diaries, photos, manuscripts - and a fragile old folder, tied with a ribbon. This held letters from a love long past between Christabel's parents. It was a portal into a decade of art and love between Charles and Barbara Blackman. Set against the burgeoning cultural art scene of 1950s Melbourne, among the soon-to-become legendary artists of the Heide group, Christabel weaves the story of Charles and Barbara and the influence they had on each other, and on the Australian art world. These handwritten letters vividly conjure the feeling of the time, and breathe life into the names that are now found in galleries around the world. Charles writes descriptive sketches of his encounters and sentiments to his new love Barbara, who is in turn experiencing her own transformations: the loss of her eyesight, life with a matriarchal mother and her growing literary and intellectual ambitions. In this intimate and immersive account, Christabel reveals her parents' unswerving devotion and blazing creativity, and shares insights into the iconic people they were becoming. With over 160 artworks from Charles Blackman, as well as never-before-seen sketches, letters, documents and photos, it is a beautiful and revealing portrait of two people, their art, and a world they changed forever.

In the Bible, Proverbs 29:18 KJV teaches us that "where there is no vision the people perish, but he that keepth the law, happy is he." I believe this to be very true. Just as we look to our parents for everything when we are children is the same way I have learned to look to God for everything. I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia with my husband and children and my mom and dad about thirty minutes away. However, growing up in the city of St. Louis was impoverished (deprived of strength and vitality). Whatever you were exposed to, such as alcoholism, guns, unemployment, and more, you had to decide within yourself much later in life what to do with it. You could either become a product of your environment or do something different. I decided to do something different. I had always heard voices in my head telling me that I would never do anything or become anyone because of where I came from. And so I believed that, and it made me afraid. But when I was ten, we moved out of that neighborhood, and we moved with my grandmother. This was a much more established well-cured community compared to the one I had come from. It was the home my mother and her siblings had grown up in. Deep down in my heart, I had always wanted to live there. (Psalms 37:4 ESV says, "Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.") Shortly after moving there, I turned eleven years old, and I met my best friend Trestaca Warren whom I met visiting the church of extended family members. The pastor did what is called an altar call. It's when you're asked if you want to be saved and join the church, and I had decided in my heart that I wanted to. So Tressie offered to go with me to the altar. When I look back on that experience now, I see it as God holding out his hand to me, letting me know that he will carry me every step of the way in life. I have been close to meeting death several times; from nearly being kidnapped to overcoming cancer and surviving four major car accidents, God has kept me. I stand here today to let you know that I am here to do his work by helping others overcome the challenges they face in life. I find my joy the most in encouraging healthy living, marriage, and family. My bachelor's, master's, doctorate, and PhD degrees are not from the classroom but from my life experiences.

For the past 150 years, critics have referred to 'the Gogol problem', by which they mean their inability to account for a life and work that are puzzling, often opaque, yet have proved consistently fascinating to generations of readers. This book proceeds on the assumption that Gogol's life and work, in all their manifestations, form a whole; it identifies, in ways that have eluded critics to date, the rhetorical strategies and thematic patterns that create the unity. These larger concerns emerge from a close study of the major texts, fictional and nonfictional, and in turn are set in a broad artistic and intellectual context, Russian and European, with special attention to German philosophy, the visual arts, and Orthodox Christian theology.
