William Capps (b.1800/1810) moved from North Carolina to Lincoln County, Tennessee, and married Margaret Yadon before 1824. They lived for awhile in Grainger (now Union) County, Tennessee, and then moved before 1830 to Lincoln County, Missouri. William Ransom Capps (1830-1921) moved to San Antonio, Texas and married Eliza Jane Jones in 1851. Emigrant ancestor of this family was Joseph Preston Yadon (1756-1843), who was born in Dublin?, Ireland. He came to America during the Revolutionary War. He was a son of Jacob Yadon and Elizabeth Proctor. He married Mary Susannah Pennybaker (1763-1838), daughter of Jacob Pennybaker and Christina Dotterer in 1782 in Berkley Co., West Virginia. Family lived first in Virginia and sometime between 1801 and 1802 moved to Grainger Co., Tennessee. They had nine children born in Virginia, and three in Tennessee. Descendants live in Tennessee, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado and elsewhere.
