Johan Martin Dostmann was born in 1730 in Nassig, Germany, and today his descendants can be found throughout the United States of America. One of them is Roy C. John Jacob Lehrman was born 22 January 1817 in Bahlingen, Baden, Germany. His parents were Matthias Lehrman and Rosina Ernst. They emigrated in 1832 and settled first in Canton, Ohio and then in Allen County, Indiana. He married Dorothea Heckler in 1846 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They had seven children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Indiana.
