Walking on Clouds is a book of poems that will, as the title suggests, make you feel like you are walking on clouds. It is divided into two themes – Dark and Light. There are stories narrated, and each story has a unique way to make you feel like you’re in the place of the events, in an imaginary world. It’s your soul that wanders off to unknown voids and hidden jungles and thus it is the Game of Souls. Your eyes open up to a window with a magical world where everything possible is said and done. Open the Dark theme if you feel bitter, and open the Light one if you feel like having a hearty laugh.

Where do clouds hang out? Earth’s atmosphere is divided into four zones- troposphere (upto 13 kms average from earth’s surface), stratosphere (from 13 km to 50 kms), mesosphere (from 50 km to 85 km) and thermosphere (thereof upto 800 kms). The layers between troposphere and stratosphere is known as tropopause and that between stratosphere and mesosphere is called stratopause. Clouds exist from as low altitude as 2 km from the earth’s surface. Cumulous clouds are the lowest clouds. Upon hearing a lecture by late Dr. Roddam Narasimha, I got an idea of writing a play using Meghadoota to induce learning about clouds. That I had byhearted few stanzas of Meghadoota in my childhood helped rekindle the interest. Specially the fifth verse which reads as “Where is this cloud, a collection of vapour, lightening, water and wind? Where the matters of message, fit to be sent by persons of sound senses? indicating that sending message through clouds was not a matter of pure fiction. Hence the play “A ride on the clouds” This book has been published by Techfiz Inc., Bengaluru

• Written by a critically-acclaimed natural-history author • Shares author’s fun journey to understanding clouds • Written for the curious—but non-science—minded Author Maria Mudd Ruth fell in love with clouds the same way she stumbles into most passions: madly and unexpectedly. A Sideways Look at Clouds is the story of her quite accidental infatuation with and education about the clouds above. When she moved to the soggy Northwest a decade ago, Maria assumed that locals would know everything there was to know about clouds, in the same way they talk about salmon, tides, and the Seahawks. Yet in her first two years of living in Olympia, Washington, she never heard anyone talk about clouds—only the rain. Puzzled by this lack of cloud savvy, she decided to create a 10-question online survey and sent it to everyone she knew. Her sample size of 67 people included men and women, new friends in Olympia, family on the East Coast, outdoorsy and indoorsy types, professional scientists, and liberal arts majors like herself. The results showed that while people knew a little bit about clouds, most were like her—they had a hard time identifying clouds or remembering their names. As adults, they had lost their curiosity and sense of wonder about clouds and were, essentially, not in the habit of looking up. A Sideways Look at Clouds acknowledges the challenges of understanding clouds and so uses a very steep and bumpy learning curve—the author’s—as its plot line. The book is structured around the ten words used in most definitions of a cloud: “a visible mass of water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere above the earth.” A captivating story teller, Maria blends science, wonder, and humor to take the scenic route through the clouds and encourages readers to chart their own rambling, idiosyncratic course.

Patricia Leffingwell, a high school reading teacher in Florida, received an ominous message from a prominent psychic medium. This message threw her life off track, and Leffingwell soon found herself propelled into an incredible, self-revealing spiritual and paranormal odyssey. Through difficult trials leading up to and following her spiritual awakening, Leffingwell became aware of her own psychic abilities. We are all born with them, but these abilities are often blamed on overactive childhood imaginations. We thwart our own connection to the other world, but this avoidance can easily become acceptance in adulthood if we open ourselves up to illumination. A Walk between the Clouds: Messages from the Other Side is an adventurous and enlightening memoir, in which Leffingwell shares her own other-worldly encounters and teaches you how to keep your own psychic journal. Once you realize there are no coincidences, you will be open to seeing the psychic phenomenon in your own life and in doing so, you will feel fulfilled, informed, and divinely peaceful.
