Although the unique flora of the Socotra Archipelago with its high degree of endemism has received much attention recently, little information is available on the vegetation and related ecological aspects. Israel is situated at the crossroad of Europe, Africa and Asia. The mosquito species found in the region reflect that fact and species known from all three continents have been recorded in Israel.
