"Sediment concentration and yield data were examined for nine pine forest type watersheds in the Beaver CFreek experimental watershed near Flagstaff, Arizona. Data from winter and summer runoff periods for water years 1974 through 1980 were analyzed. Most runoff and sediment occur with winter snowmelt flows. Summer runoff is often nonexistant except for that caused by infrequent, large, high intensity thunderstorms. In most cases, sediment concentrations are below 50 mg/l. This indicates that sediment is not presently a major concern rfor most of the BHeaaver Creek pine watersheds. Recommendations include a request for update on the current data bgase and a reduction in the number orf samplin sites" -- p. [3].
