Excerpt from Traffics and Discoveries, Vol. 2 of 2 I did so, not knowing what djinns I should evoke; and the result was such an apology as one might make who had spent a night on the rack. I conceived great respect for Apothecaries' Hall, and esteem for Mr. Cashell, a zealous craftsman who magnified his calling. Until Mr. Shaynor came down from the North his assistants had by no means agreed with Mr. Cashell. 'they forget, ' said he, 'that, first and foremost, the compounder is a medicinaman. On him depends the physician's reputation. He holds it literally in the hollow of his hand, Sir.' About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from Traffics and Discoveries, Vol. 1 of 2 Here and there earnest groups gathered round ministers of the Dutch Reformed Church, who doubtless preached conciliation, but the majority preferred their bath. The God who Looks after Small Things had caused the visitor that day to receive two weeks' delayed mails in one from a casual postman, and the whole heavy bundle of newspapers, tied with a strap, he dangled as bait. At the edge of the beach, crossflegged, undressed to his skyablue army shirt, sat a lean, gingero haired man, on guard over a dozen heaps of clothing. His eyes followed the incoming Atlantic boat. Traffics And Discoveries This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING!

Excerpt from Howrah The deep channel alternates from left to right and vice cersa according to the windings of the river, except where deflected by the large tributaries which debouch into it at the southern limit of this district. Proceeding from Howrah Bridge, the deep channel runs on the Calcutta side in the Calcutta Reach past the Fort and Kidderpore to Garden Reach. At Rajganj, Opposite Hangman Point, it crosses over to the Howrah Side, and follows the Sankrail Reach as far as Melancholy (menikhali) Point. It then zigzags from left to right at each bend. Excerpt from Stories of Discovery: As Told by Discoverers The boys turned over the books together, and the older boys showed the new ones what parts of N avar rete were translated in the Stories of the Sea. Navar rete is a Spanish editor of learning and skill, who about fifty or sixty years ago edited very carefully the original journals of Columbus, which by great good fortune are preserved in Spain; not, I think, in the original manu scripts, but in perfectly authentic copies. Excerpt from Traffic, the Story of a Faithful Woman The sun which had been white with heat all day, was growing deeper and deeper in a tone of orange; and as though some unseen hand were plunging it again into the bowels of a furnace, it sank slowly behind the horizon. Long strands of purplish clouds, rimmed with palest gold, stretched across a sky of primrose, and in the east, great banks of cumulus clouds were lit with cream and pink, like snow-capped mountains lifting their rounded peaks into the unknown. A haze of gold hung about the land in a mist; every tree or bush that rose up before the sun was black. Evening lurked in every shadow, and the last breath of the day was almost drawn. In the middle of autumn it was late to be driving home the cattle; yet across the fields, their tails swishing lethargically to keep off the stray flies that had followed them, their udders swinging heavily from side to side, like cumbrous bells swaying to an impotent hand, seven cows walked peacefully before a tall girl, whose rounded figure was silhouetted with impressionistic effect against the skyline. The gait of the animals, their ambling, even motion, brought one a sense of contentment. One felt that they needed the relief of the hands that were to milk them. One inevitably realized that the day was over. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
