THREE MILLENNIA OF HELLENIC PHILOLOGY This book describes the Greek Philology and its associated subjects of literature, linguistic and other arts. It explains the Hellenic era of three millennia of Philology as part of all other human activities; reflecting the ancient, classical, ecclesiastical, medieval and modern concepts, including the current social and economic conditions. Furthermore, it elaborates on the philological class stratification as it appears in life; among the primitive civilisations and modern European literature. Additionally, the book explains the class distinction in philology, literature, linguistics, comedies, opera, ballads and dramas of ancient and modern times. It gives details of the historical and comparative philological terms as used in linguistics studies; the ways in which specific languages have developed and the ways in which languages in general can change.

This book deals with Eschatology as a philosophical, scientific, technological, political, religious, mythological, astronomical, biochemical and a philological concept or belief concerning death, the end of the world, or the ultimate destiny of humankind. Specifically, any of the various religions, cultures and Christian doctrines concerning the Second Coming, the resurrection of the dead, reincarnation or the Last Judgment. For many readers the term eschatology is considered, mainly, as an established branch of theology concerned with the final events in the history of the world or of humankind.

Philosophy and Politics have many different areas, classified according to the subject-matter of the problems being addressed. Thus, this volume includes eight books on: Epistemology, British Philosophers (Hobbes, Locke, Hume, Burke, Bentham, and Mill), about Machiavelli, Hegel, Rousseau, Marxism, Plato, and Aristotle. This tome of the eight books attempts to describe the use of reason and argument in the search for truth and the nature of reality, especially of the causes and nature of things and of the principles governing existence, perception, human behaviour, political systems, and the material universe. The contents of this title explain the philosophical activities, directed at understanding and clarifying the concepts, methods, and doctrines of other disciplines, or at reasoning itself and the concepts, methods, and doctrines of such general notions as truth, possibility, knowledge (epistemology), necessity, existence (ontology and metaphysics), and proof.

An instinct is the mechanism by which animals and humans can perform complex behaviour patterns without learning or conscious effort. Instinctive behaviours are inherited and have evolved to be adaptive, fitting the organism to its particular role. Instinct is of particular importance in animal behaviours such as courtship, mating, and other reproductive activities. More general behaviours such as feeding and defence may have an instinctive base. Many birds, some grasshoppers, frogs, and a number of other animals have song or call patterns that attract mates and are based upon instinct. Instinctive behaviours often require a stimulus or releaser to initiate them. The herring-gull chick pecks the red spot on the adult's bill, releasing its instinctive feeding behaviour. A releaser will operate only if conditions, both internal and external to the organism, are suitable.

International law, sometimes called the law of nations, has evolved over the last 400 years. The three major sources of international law according to Article 38 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice are: international conventions or treaties; international customs; and the general principles of law as recognized by civilized nations. The Permanent Court of Arbitration was established by the Hague Conferences of 1899 and 1907, and the Permanent Court of International Justice was set up in 1921 and succeeded in 1946 by the International Court of Justice. Since World War II international organizations such as the UN and its related bodies have contributed to the expansion and increased scope of international law to include political and strategic affairs, economic, social, communications, and environmental matters. By the 1990s international law had shown its durability and flexibility by expanding to cover new areas of world relations, and its efficacy through the machinery of the UN.

An empire is the absolute dynasty of a group of countries under the rule of one sovereign State. It can be an extensive territory, an aggregate of many States, all under the ultimate authority of one person, an emperor or empress. It may also be a ruling of people reluctant to give up carefully nurtured empires, which are governed by supreme and extensive political dominion, with absolute control and paramount influence. In years bygone, this was mainly the position or dignity of an emperor, now very rare. In a few cases, throughout history, an empire-builder (a person who added to a territory) sought to increase his or her country's authority. A good example would be that of the British Empire who often employed a British overseas administrator, whose responsibility would be to sustain the governed areas and to handle the activities regarding the building of the worldwide empire. According to scripted historical events, there were many empires in the world, where some are still taught in schools.

The Eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus is probably one of the most ancient of civilised countries in the world, with a history of more than twelve thousand years of civilisation and human development. Yet, hardly ever was Cyprus completely liberated from the most ancient and historical empires of the Middle East and the European dynasties. From the ancient classical times, the Greeks settled in Cyprus and remained until the present times. Since Alexander the Great's occupation, the Ptolemaic period, Cleopatra's kingdom, and thereafter centuries long of Byzantine Hellenism, the Cypriots remained as Grecian as any other part of the prolonged Hellenic history. Otherwise, Empires such as the Hittites, Babylonians, Assyrians, Persians, Egyptians, Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Italian Kingdoms, French, Franks, Ottoman, British, and Turks, are just a few of the people who made Cyprus their own.

THEOLOGY RELATIONSHIP OF RELIGIONS AND PHILOSOPHY Theological functions and interests imply that theology can master the disciplines with which it is confronted. Theology is based on authority (revelation) as documented in scriptures of various religions, philosophical, philological, historical studies and hermeneutical (critical interpretive) questions. Theological tasks broaden into a concern with the history and traditions of religions. With such approaches difficult and controversial questions arise; whether and to what extent the scriptural standards of the sources of revelation are modified by traditions. These problems play an important part in the relationship of people, cultures and their political philosophies. Thus, the question of truth posed by theology requires the constitution of a discipline that specifically concerns itself with fundamental questions, as is in systematic theology.

This book includes simple definitions of philosophical concepts of great thinkers from around the world. Currently, the latest views of politics and the philosophical aspects of these are not helping any peaceful solutions; with the world powers striving for attention to their megalomaniac ambitions. The remarks that walls must be built to keep immigrants out, trade embargos and leaders of being weak are all negative. 'Fools build walls, wise men build bridges' makes sense and ought to encourage people to read more about political philosophy. This isolationistic attitude can be clearly defined by the psychotherapeutic branch of philosophy. In old age people regress to the earliest stages of their development. Thus Presidents, Prime Ministers and Leaders of Governments bear the same syndromes of regressive behaviour. In feeling omni-powerful the bigger nations take advantage of disagreements and conflicts; when they consider it appropriate to invade and cause havoc among the minorities.
