The ancient mathematical basis of the Aramaic calendars in the Dead Sea Scrolls is analysed in this investigation. Helen R. Jacobus re-examines an Aramaic zodiac calendar with a thunder divination text (4Q318) and the calendar from the Aramaic Astronomical Book (4Q208 - 4Q209), all from Qumran. Jacobus demonstrates that 4Q318 is an ancestor of the Jewish calendar today and that it helps us to understand 4Q208 - 4Q209. She argues that these calendars were taught in antiquity as angelic knowledge described in 1 Enoch and the Book of Jubilees. The study also encompasses Babylonian, Hellenistic, Byzantine astronomy and astrology, and classical and Jewish writings. Finally, a medieval Hebrew zodiac calendar related to 4Q318 with an astrological text is published here for the first time.

No need to search for information, this book lists everything from A (Acquisitions) to Y (Yoga) that lets you know when to plan anything, such as a hair cut, beauty treatment, major surgery, or traveling. When you want to know the best time to do anything, merely consult the Astrological Almanac that lists the events of modern life. Everyone can benefit with this Astrological Almanac. It can be used by people in all age brackets, of both sexes, professionals and nonprofessionals, and from all walks of life. There is something for everyone in this book: a complete Sun sign synopsis as well as information to determine the best time to undertake or fulfill any venture. Why is this book unique? A general Sun sign book does not give the information contained in this Astrological Almanac, especially as provided in Part One--Sun signs; your color, gem, stone, number, day, city, state, country, healthful herb teas for the zone of the body ruled by your sign, cell salts, books, music, fashion ruled by your sign, the kinds of flowers, gifts and perfumes for each sign, and compatibility (or how you get along sexually with everyone--all zodiac signs), the best days for sex, and your forecast for the year. Another unique feature is the Best Days Guide for Daily Activities (Part Two), which gives dates to enable you to determine the right time to do whatever you wish in order to obtain the best results and quickest action possible. Thus, you can consult this Astrological Almanac to apply to your daily life (there are 500 categories), enabling you to make advance plans concerning a specific activity or venture. For instance, what is a good date to start a legal action? Open a business? Advertise? Get hired for a job? Give a party? Go on a diet? Go on a trip? Have your hair cut? Have dental work? Have surgery? Plant crops? Can food? Have you ever wondered why a restaurant opened and folded, even though the food was tasty, the decor charming, and the service good? Because it was opened, astrologically, at the wrong time. "Everything in life is in the timing" is a well-known adage that has been expressed over and over by millions of people. In this Astrological Almanac, you will be able to determine when to do something to attain the most propitious results. To use this information, you do not need your horoscope, nor do you need to know your Sun sign. Just look for the activity you are interested in (they are listed alphabetically), find the favorable dates to take action throughout the year, and plan accordingly. This applies to everyone regardless of your Sun sign.
