Ltm probably soon afier thoyear 1765 that he formed eplan ofa ml: upon that subject. The fragments of which are now given to the public. No title is retired to it in the original manuscript: and the plan. Which it has been ht proper to insert here, was evidently designed maely for the convenience of the author. Of the first chapter some nu mneeted fragments only, too imperfect for publication, have been found. 0! The-wooed there in a considerable portion, perhaps nearly the whole.
