In many places and in many ways religious opposition to progress of the Gospel is breaking down as Christian truth, religious and scientific, dispels untenable superstition and unenlightened prae tice. But on the other hand there are certain great religious or god less systems which are rallying their hosts to withstand the progress if not to break the power of Christian propaganda.
