The Tao in the Tarot weaves together the mysteries of the I-Ching and the Major Arcana of the Tarot. Part 1 reveals an underlying synthesis of ideas and a common source of inspiration between these two methods of divination, and shows how for more than two thousand years the traditions of each would have been used and debated by travellers along the Silk Route connecting Europe and Asia. In Part 2 we journey through the cards of the Major Arcana placed in a circle and connect them with selected hexagrams from the I Ching and in so doing we are led out of the circle into a spiral. Along the way we connect with other ancient traditions such as the grail legend, the pattern of numbers, pagan gods and goddesses and the early use of stone circles, to finally discover just how relevant these ancient symbols are to us in today's world. The author's own simple but evocative Tarot pictures accompany the text of each card, and the relevant I Ching hexagrams are fully explained with coloured diagrams. Essential reading for the serious student of either the Tarot or the I Ching.

The Magician and the High Priestess are the first two cards of the Major Arcana and they mirror the initial hexagrams of the I-Ching, the Creative Spirit and the Receptive Spirit. The author has linked each Major Arcana tarot card to an I-Ching hexagram. These traditions are like two pieces of antique cloth from different parts of the world woven in the same design. In fact, both timeworn practices had a common source before our known religions developed, and travellers remembered them through games and plays performed along the Silk Road for thousands of years. At a crossroads on this trade route, stood the kingdom of Ghandara formed by Alexander the Great's camp followers, who brought with them the memory of gods and goddesses of their Greek homeland, yet embraced Buddhism. The Grail Legend also emerges as a common theme. An appendix takes us to Malta where the author identified two interlinked circles, solar and lunar, marked by medieval wayside chapels and holy springs. Each stood where the combination Major Arcana tarot cards would be in the design, forming a hexagon. No-one has identified this before, nor connected it to the Tarot.

Osho Zen Tarot, from the #1 bestselling mystic and spiritual author Osho! When life seems to be full of doubt and uncertainty we tend to look for a source of inspiration: what will happen in the future? What about my health, the children? What will happen if I make this decision and not that one? This is how the traditional tarot is often used, to satisfy a longing to know about the past and future. The Osho Zen Tarot focuses instead on gaining an understanding of the here and now. It is a system based on the wisdom of Zen, a wisdom that says events in the outer world simply reflect in the outer world simply reflect our own thoughts and feelings, even though we ourselves might be unclear about what those thoughts and feelings are. So it helps us to turn our attention away from outside events so we can find a new clarity of understanding in our innermost hearts. The conditions and states of mind portrayed by the contemporary images on the cards are all shown as being essentially transitional and transformative. The text in the accompanying book helps to interpret and understand the images in the simple, straightforward and down to earth language of Zen.

This guide brings Chinese astrology back to its ancient roots, providing all the information you need for understanding one of the world's oldest systems of divination. The ancient Chinese people developed a sophisticated science of astrology that continues to have profound influence in China today. Rooted in the fundamentals of Taoism, it evolved into a system vastly different from Western astrology. Rather than determining personality by the time of the year in which you are born, in Taoist astrology it is the year itself that determines your character. The years form a twelve-year cycle of signs, each named after an animal. Additionally, your personality depends on which of the five traditional Taoist elements you are born under--water, wood, fire, earth, or metal. This makes for a cycle of sixty unique signs. Taoist Astrology includes information for each sign's personality, compatibility, child-parent relations, and rising and falling fortunes during the twelve-year cycle. Discussions of yin and yang, Confucianism and Buddhism, Taoist alchemy, and the connection between Taoist astrology and Western astrology give you all the background you need for understanding one of the oldest systems of divination known to humanity. Taoist Astrology differs from other books on the subject by grounding its concepts in the ancient traditions from which it originated.
