A must read for all Gold Investors and those interested in the Global Financial Markets. The beauty of Avery is that he has explained all the concepts that go into the 'price management' of Gold, neatly wrapped in a thriller so as to keep the audience riveted." Pavan Mullapudy - Verified Purchase (Kindle Edition) Amazon.in | Dec. 9, 2016 ***** "Exciting and appealing novel, Ludla&mgrave;s style (the author should take this as a huge compliment)... Almost felt ashamed being a banker myself. The author appears to be very well informed of or acquainted with various banking and brokerage activities, both bona and mala fides, as well as with (anti) money laundering operations and regulations. That provides a special touch of genuineness to this story..." Gordana Aleksic | Sep.27, 2016 **** "This is a good story, mostly well written. No doubt there is more than a grain of truth in the way the 'Great and the good' behave with total ruthlessness. Keeping stacking - if you don't know what that means then you should read this book." Unknown Customer - Verified Purchase (Print Edition) Amazon.co.uk |April 30, 2016 | ***** "...It is not everyday that you find a book like that which is exceptionally well written, moves fast, and grips your attention... I had a hard time putting it down... The forward to the novel includes a detailed summary of all the real-world facts that inspired the author to write it." Marla Merlow | Goodreads.com | May 20, 2016 | ***** "This was a good book. Well written and thoughtful. Good balance of action vs.characterization. Characters are deeper than you will find in most thrillers. Educational. Is it fiction or a true story? This I do not know. But, I do know that this is a book worth reading..."Jackie Martin | Aug 16, 2016 | Goodreads.com *****

"Mexican Protestantism was born in the encounter between Mexican Catholics and Anglo American Protestants, after the United States ventured into the Southwest and wrested territory from Mexico in the early nineteenth century. In Sea la Luz, Juan Francisco Martinez traces the birth and initial development of this ethno-religious community brought through the westward expansion of the United States. Using the records of Protestant missionaries, he uncovers the story of Mexican converts and the churches they developed. Those same records reveal Protestant attitudes toward the war with Mexico, the conquest of the Southwest, and the Mexican population that became U.S. citizens with the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo (1848)."--BOOK JACKET.

In October 2021, the Catholic Church officially began the largest consultative process in human history. The entire people of God, some 1.34 billion Catholics worldwide, were asked to participate in a process of listening and engagement together over the course of two years. Why embark on this incredibly novel, time-consuming, and expensive task? Because your church wants to hear from you. This booklet explains and explores why the leaders of the Catholic Church have discerned that the synodal path is what “God expects of the church of the third millennium.” This Synod on Synodality is not just another meeting. It is the beginning of a conversion process that is essential to the life of the church and its mission. And the Church needs you to carry it out.

In the mid 19th century many Germans migrated to the Midwestern United States. Many of them were influenced by the Reformation as well as the theology of John Calvin. When many of them settled in Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota, Adrian Van Vliet, a minister of First Presbyterian Church in Dubuque, Iowa made it his mission to train ministers for these new immigrants. Out of this effort came the University of Dubuque and the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. A second result was the banding together of 85 churches who formed the German speaking Synod of the West under the authority of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA). For nearly 47 years these churches reached out to the new immigrants and acted as an agent of change to not only evangelize them but also to introduce them into the American way of life and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) This is the story of that 47 year journey, from 1912 1959. Layout and Photographs by Jean E. Straatmeyer

Presbyterians and Pensions traces the historical development of the modern Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and its predecessor organizations from colonial times to the present. It is a critical work that examines the Board of Pensions in its broad historical, social, economic, and theological context. Utilizing the case study approach, the authors show how a major Protestant denomination produced its present retirement and protection program for church employees. This is an insightful historical presentation of a vital part of the church's mission and provides very interesting and critical reading for those interested in the history of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
