I have been greatly struck by the thoughtful attention with which my friend of many years' standing has followed the fortunes of the religious movement about which he writes, amid the constant occupations of a commercial life. He has evidently not only read the principal books upon the Oxford Movement, but he has pondered over them, and, after mastering them, has endeavoured to utilize the information so acquired for the benefit of those possessed of less knowledge and leisure than himself.
