Moss Rose is a 1934 mystery novel by the British writer Marjorie Bowen, written under the pen name of Joseph Shearing. It is based on the unsolved murder of Harriet Buswell in 1872. The title refers to Moss Rose, a flowering plant. Excerpt: "SOME of the early incidents in the following novel are founded upon a well-known murder mystery which took place in 1872. The facts of this case can easily be ascertained; an account of the crime is included in several collections of studies in criminology."
Over the years as a result of my obsessive searching out new varieties of ramblers, both in this country and in Europe, I have acquired a very significant collection of about 300 different varieties with more on their way from Europe. This has given me an unusually wonderful opportunity, along with my travels, to photograph and study these interesting plants first hand.
