Excerpt from The Life of William Huntington, S. S As soon as I set myself seriously to the task of writing a biography of Huntington, I saw that the only way to bring up the living man, with all his virtues, failings, and idiosyncrasies, would be to arrange his correspondence as far as possible in Chronological order. So I wrote to the Press, and requested owners of letters to be good enough to lend me the originals. My appeal met with a generous response; several hundred letters came to hand; and by means of them I was able to restore the dates of many letters, the names of the receivers, and the excised passages, some of which proved auto biographical. As it is my ambition to publish, after a while, the whole of Huntington's correspondence in chronological order, with annotations - to treat Huntington's letters, indeed, as I have treated those of the poet Cowper - I trust that other persons who have originals will communicate with me, and so help to make the work'as complete as possible. William Huntington S.S. (2nd February 1745- 1 July 1813) was an English preacher and the man who preached to the Queen of England as well as the Prime Minister and signed his letters William Huntington, S.S. (Saved Sinner). He taught that the moral law, or the 10 commandments, as published by Moses, was not the rule of life for the believer but rather the gospel, which is the Law Christ. He delighted in talking of the everlasting love of God, blessed redemption, all conquering grace, mysterious providence, the Spirit's work in mens souls and many other good news themes. He was charge with being an Antinomian although his writings and sermons do not bear this out. Huntington was a strict Calvinist who believed some were predestined to eternal life and some were not. He founded or opened chapels throughout England, many of which survive to this day. There are 20 volumes of his works that were published in 1811, this is volume 9 of that series. This volume contains the The History Of Little Faith and Letter To A Friend In Defense Of little Faith
