The artist records the light, art, and beautiful people in his favorite city, and includes sketches worked at "his" table at Fouquet's during his 1991 and 1992 visits
When LeRoy Neiman and Hugh Hefner met in the early 1950s, while Neiman was doing women's high fashion drawings and Hefner was a copywriter in a Chicago department store, neither could have predicted that a twelve-inch woman called Femlin was waiting in the wings. But Femlin is mischievous. She's spunky. And she knows how to strike while the iron is hot. Fifty years later, Femlin is still going strong and sassy. Neiman has drawn her for every issue of Playboy for the last half-century, showing her at play, at sport, and at her ease.
"Paul P. has become internationally known for his haunting paintings and drawings of the faces and figures of young men, all sourced from pre-AIDS gay magazines. Nonchaloir, the artist's first monograph, collects over 100 of his stunning portraits in a small, intimate volume. Paul P.'s subjects and their poses are imbued with references to famed painters James McNeil Whistler and John Singer Sargent. Even the title itself is referential: nonchaloir is a defunct French word suggesting repose and resignation, found in works by Mallarmé and Baudelaire. Introduction by Collier Schorr." -- from Art Metropole website (viewd 25 May 2018).
A wildly insightful look at the hilarious and haunting paintings of one of downtown New York's most renowned painters. John Lurie alternatively exposes or addresses the larger, enduring myths of culture through sketches of seemingly lost childhood reveries and cryptic symbolism.

Snow Beachis the definitive book of snowboarding in the late 80s and early 90s: action and style on the mountain. In these early years, snowboarding culture was full of rebellious riders: off-season skateboarders and generation X's outcasts trying to find their way through early adulthood and adolescence. At the same time, the sport was maturing and growing into the mainstream giant it is today.Snow Beachdraws on the best photographers of the era to document the lifestyle, fashion, and feats of athleticism that defined the decade. In these tightly cropped action and lifestyle shots, snowboarders flaunt their outsider status as champions of the alternative winter sport. The images inSnow Beachare of snowboarders with grunge, punk, and hip-hop sensibilities. There is a lingering 80s ski flair mixed with the emerging 90s look pioneered by fledgling brands like Burton, Sims, and Ride, showcasing looks that are popular in modern fashion. With about 40 years of history as a seasonal activity, snowboarding has done a sparse job archiving and documenting its own history and there are no definitive books on the subject currently available. Assembled by creative director Alex Dymond and with photo contributions from Bud Fawcett, Dano Pendygrasse, Jon Foster, Trevor Graves, Vianney Tisseau, and many more, along with essay contributors Jesse Huffman and Pat Bridges,Snow Beachis here to set the record straight.

Leo Fuchs is a Hollywood veteran who spent over 40 years shooting some of the most moving and memorable images ever made of 1950s and 1960s film icons. Starting as a freelance magazine photographer, he was one of the rare outsiders invited onto movie sets, where he often befriended movie stars and captured candid shots both during and after shooting. The resulting photographs from Hollywood's undisputed heyday are here collected for the first time, including portraits of Sean Connery, Shirley MacLaine, Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando and Cary Grant.
