My father would disappear for days to the temple of Athena to pray for my mother’s good health. My mother’s health continued to worsen as she became bed ridden and rail thin in a matter of months. The castle was overcast with despair; everyone knew that my mother was dying. Everyone except me, I still had hope that whatever witchcraft that had befallen my mother would soon be lifted.
