The Govie-ee: My Hell of a Life by Jeff M. Maritz Mike-ee is not your typical child. When he was five, he saw things he shouldn't see. His mother unwittingly planted the seeds of carnal knowledge in his pure mind. At age nine, he committed incest without knowing it was wrong. In 1967, at age eleven, he and his sister found their father beaten black and blue in their room in a run-down boarding house. All of a sudden, he was taken by authorities to Louis Trichardt Reformatory-the so-called Govie-ee-with his elder brother and sister. He had no idea why they end up there, and nobody would offer any reason. The Govie-ee was a hellhole. It brought out the worst in him...it tormented him...it took any innocence left in him. This is a true story. About the Author Jeffrey Michael Maritz was born and raised in Africa. At present time he is living in Asia for more than twenty years. He has traveled the world due to his profession as a mechanical engineer. Inspired by the love for his father, he writes this book about the struggles he had to deal with as a child growing up in a dysfunctional family in Africa.

"In July 2012, the Green Infrastructure Finance Framework Report was published to address the constraints in financing green infrastructure and to develop a new PPP-based approach to accelerate investments in low emission technologies. The approach calls for assessing the “Green Investment Climate” of a given country in order to develop country-specific recommendations for policy and incentive programs as well as other measures which can be introduced in order to further promote green growth in an economy. This report includes one of the first Green Investment Country Profiles completed for the East Asia and Pacific Region as part of bringing the approach closer to operational status. The initial countries include China, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and South Korea. The assessment involves not only the green policy and incentives environment, but also the country’s overall natural resource endowment of fossil and renewable energy, its industrial development strategy in addition to general business indicators and other considerations, such as electricity prices, the capacity of the financial sector to mobilize long-term domestic financing, as well as their overall regulatory and legal capacity to implement PPPs. The country profiles provide a general understanding of the attractiveness, prevailing trends, strengths, and other aspects affecting the ability of the country to leverage its green growth potential. South Asian immigrants have made a significant contribution to the Canadian mosaic. However, their trials and tribulations and their successes and failures constitute a story that remains untold. To know of their arrivals, their struggles to beat the odds, as well as their successes, is to read a story of hard work, of tireless effort to 'make it' of the commitment to belong, and of ultimate success. This process not only re-shaped them from 'who they were' to 'who they are now', but also re-shaped Canada that we know today. Their influence can be felt in the arts and sciences, the humanities and in politics, community works and in social services. This book is an attempt to understand the 'what' and 'how' of that unfolding process, and also to know the real concerns about the conditions of Canada's ethnic minority population, South Asian Canadians and their children in particular.
