The purpose of these tests was to determine the effect of various fine aggregate gradings, ranging from very fine to very coarse, upon the following properties of concrete containing coarse aggregate graded from the No. 4-sieve size to 6 in. and having a cement content of 2.5 bags per cu yd: bleeding, air-entraining admixture requirements, water-cement ratio, compressive strength, resistance to accelerated freezing and thawing, and drying shrinkage.
