Trieste Publishing has a massive catalogue of classic book titles. Our aim is to provide readers with the highest quality reproductions of fiction and non-fiction literature that has stood the test of time. The many thousands of books in our collection have been sourced from libraries and private collections around the world. The titles that Trieste Publishing has chosen to be part of the collection have been scanned to simulate the original. Our readers see the books the same way that their first readers did decades or a hundred or more years ago. Books from that period are often spoiled by imperfections that did not exist in the original. Imperfections could be in the form of blurred text, photographs, or missing pages. It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers. Generally, Trieste books are purchased singly - on demand, however they may also be purchased in bulk. Readers interested in bulk purchases are invited to contact us directly to enquire about our tailored bulk rates.

Excerpt from The Conchologist, Vol. 2: A Journal of Malacology With this number the second volume of "The Conchologist" is concluded, and with it the paper as a general journal of the Mollusca will cease to exist. The reasons for such a step are already known to many. The paper was started with the object of improving the study of the Mollusca in this country, and in looking back upon the short space of three years we feel much has been achieved. Our effort has culminated in the foundation of a Malacological Society - now an active and vigorous body. The need of an independent paper has, therefore, in a large measure ceased to exist, and the Proceedings of the Society will only be weakened by the continued existence of this paper, so we readily retire from the field wishing the Society a long and prosperous career, and inviting subscribers to "The Conchologist" to lend their support to such an effort. Although as "The Conchologist" the paper will no longer exist, yet as "The Journal of Malacology" it will be continued, confining its attention solely to the slugs, and slug-like genera. I am pleased to know that I continue to enjoy the friendship of most of my contributors and supporters, and trust that such relations may always continue. To all who have in any way furthered the interests of the paper I tender my sincere thanks. In conclusion, I desire to acknowledge my great indebtedness to my colleagues Messrs. A. H. Cooke, Walter Garstang, Charles Hedley, R. F. Scharff, E. R. Sykes, and B. B. Woodward, for their constant assistance and support. My best thanks are also due to Mr. Edgar A. Smith, of the British Museum, for very many kindnesses. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from The Journal of Malacology, Vol. 3: Established in 1890 as "the Conchologist" A Journal of Malacology A. flagellas, sp. Nov. The Slug alive measured 50 mm. In length, in alcohol 42 mm., with a mantle 13 mm. Long. The head is of a bluish-white colour, which gradually darkens or becomes a greyish blue on the tentacles. In the median line of the body a broad, dark, Vandyke-brown coloured band extends from the caudal gland to the mantle, and becomes less distinct after passing over about half the length of the mantle. On either side of the body a narrower light-brown band borders the median one, and this in turn is bounded by another Vandyke brown band about half the breadth of the median one. The sides of the body and the foot fringe are of a light brownish white, the latter being striped with faint sepia lines. The sole is pale yellow. The rugae are somewhat oval and flat, separated by dee sulci. The caudal gland is small and inconspicuous. Excerpt from The Journal of Malacology, Vol. 10: Established in 1890 as "the Conchologist, a Journal of Malacology" Recently, I described and figured a shell from Kelantan, under the name Rhodina (?) mirabilis. I felt some doubt as to whether the form really belonged to de Morgan's genus, as the single species he referred to it- was, and is, unknown to me. Dr. Moellendorff expressed the view that the form did really belong to de Morgan's genus. Whether this be so or not the name Bhodina cannot be used in Molluscs, having been employed by Guenee in 1854 for an Australian butterfly. Under these circumstances I propose the new genus Plieaxis and take as the type my Rhodina (?) mirabilis. I feel but little doubt that de Morgan's R.perakensis also belongs here. Dr. Moellendorfl suggests that the group should be reduced to a sub-genus of Prosopeas, but it appears to me to be distinct from the typical Nicobar forms; it may be remarked, with regard to this last name, that Prosopea and Prosopeus had previously been used in Zoology.
