What do NBA superstar Steph Curry, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg, have in common? They all found out that ultimate success comes through the power of relationships. By themselves they were limited, but by adding mentors to their lives and enterprises they were unlimited! Mentoring is the new human "hack," like spark notes for your life! Think of your journey this way, when you're in your 20's and 30's intentionally seek out mentors over 40 who can help you dream, gain confidence and think through life altering decisions. Then when you're in your 40's and 50's do the same in reverse, pursue mentors under 40 in order to stay socially relevant, industry knowledgeable and physically fit. Mentors help you pinpoint ideal paths to pursue in life and work. The 40:40 Principle gives you the roadmap to finding life-changing mentors. Mentoring with The 40:40 Principle is needed now more than ever because most people underestimate how the seasons of their lives can dramatically influence their success. - Steve Stagner Executive Chairman and Chairman of the Board, Mattress Firm There is a myriad of wealth within the pages of this book. The challenge that faces us all is whether we can continue to settle for "sameness." Andy encourages us all to tap into the unmined resources of "people" so that we can tip the scales of wisdom and experience in favor of fulfilling our purpose while at the same time living a richer and joyous life. -Lisa Arrindell Anderson Actress, Law and Order, and Madea's Family Reunion

Information is always required by organizations of coastal states about the movements, identities and intentions of vessels sailing in the waters of interest to them, which may be coastal waters, straits, inland waterways, rivers, lakes or open seas. This interest may stem from defense requirements or from needs for the protection of off-shore resources, enhanced search and rescue services, deterrence of smuggling, drug trafficking and other illegal activities and/or for providing vessel traffic services for safe and efficient navigation and protection of the environment. To meet these needs it is necessary to have a well designed maritime surveillance and control system capable of tracking ships and providing other types of information required by a variety of user groups ranging from port authorities, shipping companies, marine exchanges to governments and the military. Principles of Integrated Maritime Surveillance Systems will be of vital interest to anyone responsible for the design, implementation or provision of a well designed maritime surveillance and control system capable of tracking ships and providing navigational and other types of information required for safe navigation and efficient commercial operation. Principles of Integrated Maritime Surveillance Systems is therefore essential to a variety of user groups ranging from port authorities to shipping companies and marine exchanges as well as civil governments and the military.

Principles of Optics is one of the classic science books of the twentieth century, and probably the most influential book in optics published in the past 40 years. The new edition is the first ever thoroughly revised and expanded edition of this standard text. Among the new material, much of which is not available in any other optics text, is a section on the CAT scan (computerized axial tomography), which has revolutionized medical diagnostics. The book also includes a new chapter on scattering from inhomogeneous media which provides a comprehensive treatment of the theory of scattering of scalar as well as of electromagnetic waves, including the Born series and the Rytov series. The chapter also presents an account of the principles of diffraction tomography - a refinement of the CAT scan - to which Emil Wolf, one of the authors, has made a basic contribution by formulating in 1969 what is generally regarded to be the basic theorem in this field. The chapter also includes an account of scattering from periodic potentials and its connection to the classic subject of determining the structure of crystals from X-ray diffraction experiments, including accounts of von Laue equations, Bragg's law, the Ewald sphere of reflection and the Ewald limiting sphere, both generalized to continuous media. These topics, although originally introduced in connection with the theory of X-ray diffraction by crystals, have since become of considerable relevance to optics, for example in connection with deep holograms. Other new topics covered in this new edition include interference with broad-band light, which introduces the reader to an important phenomenon discovered relatively recently by Emil Wolf, namely the generation of shifts of spectral lines and other modifications of spectra of radiated fields due to the state of coherence of a source. There is also a section on the so-called Rayleigh-Sommerfield diffraction theory which, in recent times, has been finding increasing popularity among optical scientists. There are also several new appendices, including one on energy conservation in scalar wavefields, which is seldom discussed in books on optics. The new edition of this standard reference will continue to be invaluable to advanced undergraduates, graduate students and researchers working in most areas of optics.
