DOWNLOAD EBOOKExcerpt from Sunday-School Organization and Methods The substance of this discussion of Sundayschool organization and methods was given in courses of lectures to the theological students of Garrett Biblical Institute and of the Boston School of Theology, to Sunday-school teachers and superintendents in several Chautauquas, and in many Institutes in twenty or more States of the Union. Many requests for the publication of these suggestions and descriptions of actual results achieved have come from the persons who heard them from the platform. The Dean of the Boston University School of Theology writes of the lectures he heard, now given in a form more suitable for reading and reference, in the following appreciation: "In the spring of 1904 a course of lectures was delivered by Dr. Roads before the student body of the School of Theology of Boston University on Sunday-school Methods. It was felt that the increased stress which is being placed in the Church at large upon the function of religious training would make a fundamental and suggestive treatment of such a theme exceedingly valuable to those in preparation for the responsible office of pastors and teachers.
