A Rose will not smell less sweet if it’s called by another name. Similar is the case of eight stories penned down by a sixty-nine-year Author. Sugandha is a fictional character. Nothing real about this girl. You can enjoy the stories as a parent, grandparent and read them to your children and grand kids. The stories can be read as bed time stories or when the kids are cranky not drinking milk and refuse to go to school. Name Sugandha can be substituted with your daughter or granddaughters name while reading the stories aloud. The emotions all over the world are the same when it comes to grandchildren. The stories are short and evocative. In few stories you may get a jolt of recognition too. I enjoyed writing this book on fiction. I hope the readers will enjoy it too and see a few traits of SUGANDHA in their kid’s life too.
It is interesting to see how books of essay poetry as well as essay stories by Denny JA are discussed by professors with different backgrounds from various universities. There are professors from UI Depok, UNPAD Bandung, IKJ Jakarta, ISBI Bandung, Paramadina University Jakarta, and from Malaysia. These professors are familiar figures, and some are very well-known such as Prof. Sapardi Djoko Damono, Prof. Jakob Sumardjo, and Prof. Abdul Hadi W.M. Each professor discusses the work of Denny JA from a different perspective. In this way, the academic world can become more up-to- date and at the same time directly in touch with the most current cultural, social, political, and economic issues.
