The present musical work has been written by Alejandro Diaz in 2015. Inspired by Paul Hindemith's Flute Sonata, Diaz wrote this sonata, which was dedicated to his beloved cousin, Diana Salazar, flutist. This work represents the beginning of a new composing technique for Diaz, who has combined classical harmony with some contemporary harmony, represented in some sections all along the piece. And, as mentioned in the beginning, the contemporary musical language from Hindemith has inspired all the work in this and other pieces from Diaz. Here, we can find the story of two children playing in a garden, sometimes resting and finding figures between the clouds and getting in troubles, and, at the end, they can laugh until sunset. The Flute Sonata is composed in three (3) movements, as a classic sonata, with a first movement Allegro giocoso, which represents the childlike temperament in this part of the sonata, with a play-time character, described by the composer as a playful, restless and naughty kid represented the most of time by the flute, and a second kid, in the piano, with the same temperament as the first one, but more reflexive and always following the steps and games from his friend. After this part, a second movement with a peaceful character, showing the kids resting and lying down on the grass. This part of the sonata shows how the composer see the pass of the clouds, slow and calm, in a summer day. And finally, a third movement which shows how those kids get in trouble, after one of them begins to roll down the hill, and the other one tries to help him, but finishes rolling down too. The fear and nerves of those children are shown by the stressful tempo and abrupt harmony. This sonata ends in this movement with a tonal ending, which shows the kids' laughs after to stop rolling and see that everything is fine. With this introduction and context, we ask you to enjoy this piece and always have fun playing. Contents Full Piano Score + Individual Flute Part - Allegro Giocoso - Andante - Allegro con brio
