"The issue contains a single full page Artotype (Collotype) titled 'Artistic Homes of California -- residence of Mr. Lyman C. Parke, S.W. Cor. Adeline and Eighth Streets, Oakland.' This is New Series Plate 41. Print by Britton and Rey. These artotypes were published in the News Letter from at least 1888, and were used as the basis of the publication 'Artistic Homes of California.' This is accompanied with two other Artotypes [by Britton and Rey] titled 'Business Blocks of San Francisco, West Side of Kearny, Looking North from Post Street, Artotype No. 88, September 22, 1888,' and 'Birds-Eye Views of San Francisco-No.12, Van Ness Avenue from Geary Street, looking north, Concordia Club on the Right, New Series plate 111, September 12, 1891.' Britton and Rey are not listed as one of the licensees of the patent as of the Artotype company's end in 1881. Britton and Rey printed 'Photo-Typos' during the mid 1880s."--David Hanson documentation.
