This book applies a multiparadigmatic philosophical frame of analysis to the topic of social revolution. In 1870 the Welsh ironmaster John James Hughes left his successful career in England and settled in the barren and underpopulated Donbass region of the Ukrainian steppe to found the town of Iuzovka and build a large steel plant and coal mine. What Is the Third Estate? was the most influential pamphlet of 1789. It did much to set the French Revolution on a radically democratic course.
