Excerpt from Monthly Report: July, 1938 Despite the heavy travel which the park experienced no accidents occurred during the month which resulted in fatalities, although there were two cases of pool burns and one automobile accident which resulted in two of the occupants of the our being badly injured. Robert 1d. Shaw, 26, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was extensively burned on July 8 than he fell into a hot water basin nwr Old Faithful Geyser and was hospital ised. He was making excellent recovery by the end of the month. Caroline Stevens, 17, Dawson, Georgia, a member of the Georgia Caravans Party, was burned on the right leg when she stepped into a pool near Grand Geyser. Her condition was not serious and she departed for home after being cmfined to the hospital for a few days.
