Excerpt from Report of the Board of Health of the City and Port of Philadelphia: To the Mayor, for the Year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty-Six The Report following shows that 801 vessels were examined, and 2807 foreign passengers permitted to come to the city, being an increase Of 76 vessels and 1103 passengers, as compared with the returns of 1865. Notwithstanding this increase, it is a gratifying fact that but four patients were ordered to the hospital; one of whom, a sailor, taken from. An outward bound vessel, died from cholera immediately upon being brought ashore. Fifteen vessels were detained and treated according to law, in consequence of coming from.
