We have studied the properties of Z boson events produced in 1.8 TeV p{bar p} collisions using 19.3 pb−1 of integrated luminosity collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) during the 1992--1993 Tevatron run. We compare the characteristics of the hadronic jets associated with the Z to leading-order QCD calculations using the VECBOS Monte Carlo program. For a subsample of events, we identify B jets and compare their rates to those expected from events with generic QCD jets.

A preliminary measurement of the properties of W and Z production along with accompanying jets has been made in {anti p}p collisions at 1.8 TeV using the CDF detector at Fermilab. Distributions of jet multiplicity, and boson E{sub T}, with and without selection on jet multiplicity, were obtained. Agreement was found with perturbative QCD predictions.

We present a study of the production properties of hadronic jets in Z boson events from 1.8 TeV[ital p][ital[anti p]] collisions using 106 pb[sup -1] of Run 1A and 1B CDF data. We compare distributions of several kinematic variables in the data to leading order QCD predictions generated using the VECBOS Monte Carlo program.
