Excerpt from Psychic Philosophy as the Foundation of a Religion of Natural Law Truths. I apprehend, are verbal statements of facts, material or spiritual, experienced or inferred. Whether inspired or not, those statements can only (apart from telepathic possibilities) be rendered in words. Spiritual facts, so far as I have been able to understand, are of the nature of force, and are therefore to the human intelligence starting-points, or principles. Of under standing and of action. As they are not perceptible to us except by their phenomena, they must, whether by these or by words. Necessarily be expressed symboli cally, though they may be experienced actually as the illumination of the Divine 'spirit in the soul. Law of the New Thought: A Study of Fundamental Principles and Their Application is study of "new thought," or the oldest school of thought that teaches spiritual and psychic truth concerning the planes of the mind, telepathy, the celestial and clairvoyant. In it, Atkinson instructs on the definition of "New Thought," the nature of thought in general, the law of attraction, the nature and planes of mind and body, the soul, and the absolute-God and the Universe. He shows how students of New Thought can apply its principles to their everyday lives, while students of philosophy and psychology will find his theories an interesting read. American writer WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON (1862-1932) was editor of the popular magazine New Thought from 1901 to 1905, and editor of the journal Advanced Thought from 1916 to 1919. He authored dozens of New Thought books under numerous pseudonyms, including "Yogi," some of which are likely still unknown today.

So says Ernest Holmes, author of THE SCIENCE OF MIND and founder of the philosophy of Religious Science. God is not far away, but is within ourselves, other people, and everywhere present. Why then, do we fall prey to unwanted conditions - illness, financial lack, relationship difficulties, loneliness and problems of every kind? Written as a manual for the practical applications of the principles set forth in The Science of Mind, this book takes the original philosophy of "change your thinking, change your life," and explains a clear and definite scientific method of prayer that can help you overcome life's obstacles.

Excerpt from Principles of Psychology: The Foundation Work of the Aletheian System of Philosophy Of the great tasks within the compass of man one of the most fascinating is surely that of tracing out the course of thought, so that this may be seen from the first glimmering of intelligence to the complex web Of knowledge and reasoning that form our comprehension of the world. Since all this is contained in our thought, the suggestion arises as to whether the thought be not capable Of exhibiting its content lucidly in the modes of its experiences and processes of combination. The problem of discovering these processes and laying bare the entire mechanism might well appear so vast, and at the same time so tenuous and elusive, as to be impossible, unless indeed by favour of new methods of conducting the attack and the discovery of new forms of analysis. It is the object of the present work to show the investigations that furnish the solution. Briefly the pith of the book is the elucidation of the manner in which all complexes of thought may be shown to be built up by syntheses of certain Fundamental Processes, which are in the psychic world the analogues of the chemical elements in the physical world. Once the central problem' solved, the main position secured, I have shown a series of developments in which various great problems of psychology are dealt with in new illu mination and the work will have missed something of its purpose unless it be found to give to the reader the sense of standing at a central point of command from which he sees the development of the structural forms of thought, whether it be in the ordinary operations of the mind, or in the domain of the sciences, or in the applications wherein he may find the vast mechanical products of civilisation springing as corollaries from the delicate filaments of the thinker's mind.
