"Pain Psychology for Clinicians equips the general medical provider with core psychological and communication strategies to implement in their care of patients with chronic pain. Given the opioid crisis and its intersection with adequate chronic pain management, there is increasing focus to assist the patient with self-management of their pain through the use of interdisciplinary modalities. However, despite the evidence base for efficacy, pain psychology remains largely relegated to formal interdisciplinary outpatient programs or referral-based private practice settings that may not be locally available in a provider's community.
