This collection contains over 2000 individual postcards, close to 700 posters and almost 400 song sheet booklets ranging from humorous and entertaining jingles to heavier war propaganda songs and mourning laments. Most of the postcards are of a photographic image - with many of ruined towns, battlefields, tourist sites, military training and equipment. The majority of these relate to war on the Western Front but there are also postcards relating to the Eastern Front, Naval War and War in the Air. The poster collection includes posters used for propaganda, recruitment, fundraising and rationing in a number of countries including the USA, UK, France, Canada, South Africa, Italy, Holland and Czechoslovakia.
