The Program examined approximately 3,986 acres of proposed timber sale and training development areas. Research on these survey tracts included an archival records search for previously recorded historic and prehistoric sites and a field examination of all survey areas at 20-m intervals by both pedestrian reconnaissance and screened, subsurface posthole tests.
