The Paquette, Paquet, Pasquire, and Pasquali comes from the personal name of "Pasquet" which was a form of "Pascal". The old French word "pacquet" meant "bundle of kindling" thus in some instances the name may have been originally an occupational name for a gather and seller of firewood or kindling.
